In today's increasingly complex gaming, 3D gamers have different choices of games. These games cater to the taste of many 3D gamers, though each may vary from the other. Some 3D gamers become "specialists" in a particular game genre. Here are some to name a few:
*First person shooters for 3D gamers
First person shooter games are played through the eyes of your character. You would usually see your character's hands or weapon on the screen, while you blast away at your opponents. The pioneer of first person shooters was the game called Doom. While first person shooters started out as hack-and-slash games, recents ones would require a bit more strategy, stimulating the mind of 3D gamers. There are some where 3D gamers simply can't shoot an opponent at whim, but would have to wait for a particular moment before he or she engages in combat.
Simulation for 3D gamers
Simulation games or "sims" are games that try to depict real life situations as accurately as possible. For example, one of them could let 3D gamers experience be a pilot of a 747 jumbo jet. This allows 3D gamers to fly and land the plane. A lot of these simulation games don't have any real objective within the game, but merely mimic real life settings.
Role-playing games for 3D gamers
Role-playing games or RPGs allow 3D gamers to play a character (sometimes more than one) and develop his or her characteristics such as speed, dexterity, intelligence, strength and charm. The characters played by 3D gamers would also usually have a set of skills such as engineering, tailoring, herbalism and cannibalism. Characters that 3D gamers play are in a fantasy world, where they can even have their own currency (usually gold). 3D gamers get to engage in quests and, when completed, are given certain rewards such as gold, items and experience. These character get stronger and stronger as gamers procceed to the next level.
Sports for 3D gamers
These are games that allow 3D gamers to play certain sports in a virtual environment. Sports games are usually in third person perspective, though some are designed to have characters in first person. Recent development of motion sensitivity gives a different experience to 3D gamers who are playing sports games. Sports games that incorporate motion sensitivity give 3D gamers the chance to actually feel the adrenalin rush while playing sports games.
